Prior to establishing Keestra Consulting in 2003, she was a Partner and Director of international strategy consultants, L.E.K. Consulting, setting up and running the New Zealand office. Earlier in her consulting career, she worked with the Boston Consulting Group and Coopers & Lybrand. She has a BSc in Mathematics and a BCom in Economics from the University of Auckland.

Joanne Keestra has a flexible working style. She can either work alongside company execs, provide leadership to a project team or work in partnership with other consultants. She has a reputation for a collaborative working style which helps to achieve buy-in and ownership of strategy by the business going forward.

In addition to her consulting work, Joanne has a strong interest in corporate governance and helping boards to engage with management to develop value-creating strategies. She is an experienced company director and served as a non-executive director of MetService from 2005- 2010.
